Analog Machines
The tape begins? What is real
and what is
not?
Are these recordings, ghosts that
never were,
sounds
never emitted?
We
move awkwardly through worn
tape creating delay, distortion,
mutations.
& through time and
space like obsolete machines
Transmitting coded documents and aural
shrapnel
from the awareness factory.
Where does reality
end and
the tapes begin?
Are
these recording the
world
around me?
They create
new
recordings… any less real than reality?
Is there a difference?
Who
is
controlling
the machine?
Old Bones
One must take the
fragility of being with
a sense of humor
Like meat coated
skeletons laughing
into the void
The punchline being
we’re not just old bones
we’re that void as well
Une contribution en VO de Wayne Mason | Poète et artiste expérimental et sonore, Wayne Mason, publie régulièrement dans des revues et magazines littéraires, aussi bien au format papier que numérique. Ses productions figurent également dans plusieurs anthologies dont notamment, « Cut up! » anthologie inspirée par la fameuse technique de William S Burroughs & Brion Gysin’ (2014, Oneiros Books). Récemment, 18 pages intitulées « Subliminal Syntax » déconstruisant la syntaxe et reposant sur la technique du cut up ont été publiées chez Analog Submission Press. Wayne Mason est également actif dans le domaine de la musique expérimentale depuis près de vingt ans, enregistrant des sons ambiants à la fois en solo et en tant que moitié du projet électronique Blk/Mas.
Wayne Mason is an experimental writer and noise artist whose poetry and prose has appeared in numerous magazines both in print and online. He has also been included in several anthologies, the most recent being ‘Cut Up! An anthology inspired by the cut-up method of William S Burroughs & Brion Gysin’ (2014, Oneiros Books). He is the author of several chapbooks, the most recent being ‘Subliminal Syntax’ (2019, Analog Submission Press), eighteen pages of cut-up prose and syntactical deconstruction. He has also been active in noise/experimental music for nearly twenty years recording ambient, experimental and noise sounds, both solo and as one half of the electronic project Blk/Mas.
